Johnny Tocco’s Ringside Gym was established in Las Vegas, NV in 1955. Johnny Tocco was a cutman and Boxing trainer, and the Gym as it stands today was once a Mob hangout known as “The Zebra Lounge.” Then one fateful day Boxing Manager (and gagnster) Blinky Polermo asked Johnny if he’d train a young kid out of Johnny’s home town of St. Louis. This young man turned out to be Sonny Liston. Tocco’s was his home Gym, and became the home of the World Heavyweight Champion.
